Back then, there was no Bếp Mani Kitchen, no Seven Garden Features, and no large team — yet her steadfast heart and tireless hands, planting with care, helped bring to life a land of peace and well-being.
“I came to Maha Mangala for work, for the first time. I was still unclear on my spiritual journey, not yet knowing what I was seeking,” she recalled. Yet it was here that she discovered something she had never known she needed — the inner light of returning.
Each morning in the Garden of Light, as she lights candles, burns incense, or quietly tidies the paths and tends the garden, she feels herself returning. “Everything outside seems to settle, and I feel the presence of myself. That alone is enough to begin the day with peace in my heart,” she said.
“Sometimes I get swept up in the pace of life and forget to slow down. But just by pausing for a few minutes and taking a deep breath, I remember where I am headed and why I began,” she shared. She brings the “seed of peace” from Maha Mangala into everyday life through simple acts… listening more to her loved ones, fully being present, and living slowly to cherish each moment. “Peace is not somewhere far away; everyone deserves it. All it takes is to pause, breathe slowly, and listen — a land of calm has always been present within.”
The phrase “Returning, uplifting life in our hands” became her guiding principle, helping her to see deeply into each full breath, each smile, and the presence in the small moments. For her, Maha Mangala is a journey of returning… simple, quiet, and deeply meaningful.
Ten years have passed, people have come and gone, challenges have arisen, yet she quietly nurtures herself each day with a single aspiration — to preserve the spirit and flow of the Retreat Garden, so that it may always remain a land of “returning,” a place where kindred souls gather… together cultivating, supporting, and sending forth the energy of peace to all!
